וְיִכָּנְע֨וּ עַמִּ֜י אֲשֶׁ֧ר נִֽקְרָא־שְׁמִ֣י עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם וְיִֽתְפַּֽלְלוּ֙ וִֽיבַקְשׁ֣וּ פָנַ֔י וְיָשֻׁ֖בוּ מִדַּרְכֵיהֶ֣ם הָרָעִ֑ים וַאֲנִי֙ אֶשְׁמַ֣ע מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְאֶסְלַח֙ לְחַטָּאתָ֔ם וְאֶרְפָּ֖א אֶת־אַרְצָֽם׃
se il mio popolo, sul quale è invocato il mio nome, si umilia, prega, cerca il mio volto e si ravvede dalle sue vie malvagie, allora io ascolterò dal cielo, perdonerò il loro peccato e guarirò la loro terra.
Duties of the Heart
(2) He should be broken hearted and humbled before G-d due to his sins, as written "If My people, upon whom My Name is called, will humble themselves [and pray and seek My presence and repent of their evil ways, then I shall hear from heaven and forgive their sin...]" (Divrei Hayamim II 7:14).
